Cessna 172-series

I have uploaded the initial production lists for the Cessna 172-series.  As always, these lists are preliminary, and are subject to updates and revisions.  Any past or present 172 owner is encouraged to contact me with updated information on their aircraft.  I will be starting on the individual airframe history cards soon.

The Work Continues...

I have been continuing on with my work on the Cessnas.  As I complete more of the lists I will continue to post them on AR and mention them here.  Today I have uploaded the production list for the Valentin Taifun, a German motorglider.

"Series" Aircraft

Some manufacturers, like Cessna, changed model numbers throughout the production of an aircraft.  For instance, the 150 was manufactured as the 150, the 150A through 150H, 150J through 150M, and the A150K through A150M.  I have decided to create a "series" page for all of these, so that there will only be one entry under Cessna 150, instead of listing all of the different submodels.

AR Changes

I have decided to dispense with the "in progress" production list section, as most of the lists will continue to be in progress for some time.  The total production list count will continue to be displayed on the right side of AIRFRAMED, and the asterisks "*" will be removed from AR.

I have uploaded the production lists for the Cessna 150-series and the 152, A152.

Cessna 205

Today's update is the production list for the Cessna 205.

Updates!

Over the past few weeks I have been compiling information for AR.  In particular, I have been trying to put Cessna production lists together.  Today I uploaded lists for the Cessna 180 and 185 series aircraft.  Others that will be coming in the future include the 162, 170, 175,  and T303.

Saturday Progress

Before I call it a Saturday, I wanted to upload some new information and give the latest from the day's work. I have completed the production list for the Mooney M20A, and have added the list to AR. I have also uploaded the "in progress" lists for the Cirrus SR22T and the Convair CV-240/600 Convairliner to AR. Both of these have plenty of holes to fill, but I wanted to get them posted today.

More New Production Lists Started

I have started work on the production lists for the Convair 240 and 340, as well as the production list for the Grumman G-21/G-21A Goose. I will be posting these soon, even in their incomplete form. I have added more entries to the Cirrus SR22 list and have uploaded those changes.

New Production Lists

Today I have compiled and uploaded two new production lists. One is for the Sikorsky S-38 amphibian, and the other is for the Canadair CL-215 fire bomber. I have also continued work on the Cirrus SR22 production lists and have uploaded the newest iteration of the list.

Cirrus SR22 Update

Since the SR22 is a fairly new aircraft, filling "holes" in the production list has been relatively easy. As there are over 4600 aircraft, however, it is taking some time to fill those holes. The latest additions to the SR22 production list have been uploaded.

Sikorsky S-43 Baby Clipper

I just finished and uploaded the production list for Sikorsky's S-43 Baby Clipper.  For more information on these aircraft, look up terms from the following to get started:

- Howard Hughes
- InterIsland Airways
- Kermit Weeks
- National Air & Space Museum
- Pan American Airways
- Pima Air Museum

AR Motto or Slogan

The motto or slogan for AR is "Aircraft's Family Tree".  While this is not posted on the AR site yet, it will be in the future as the AR logo and header are developed.

Cirrus SR22 Production List

I have started a production list for the Cirrus SR22.

R22 Update

I have added several more c/n's and registrations to the Robinson R22 production list.

Trislander Production List Finished

I have finished the production list for the Britten-Norman Trislander.  As always, the information is only as good as my transcribing and the sources I have gleaned the information from.  If you have more information or corrections, please let me know and I'll update the production list accordingly.

If you are doing research on the Trislanders, the following keywords may be of interest:
- Britten-Norman
- Fairey Aviation Group
- Integrity Aircraft Holdings, Inc.
- International Aviation Corporation
- Lance Watson
- Peter Van Dyke
- Phoenix Continental Corporation
- Pilatus
- Tri-Commutair

AR = airframeregistry.com

For ease of use and to save me from typing the URL over and over again, I will be referring to airframeregistry.com as AR.  This has already been used for the html headers on the web site, but I wanted to make it "official" here on AIRFRAMED.  My current idea is to incorporate both of these letters in to the logo I am designing.

R22 and Trislander Updates

I have updated airframeregistry.com (AR), with the Robinson R22 and Britten-Norman Trislander production lists.  As both lists are incomplete, I have added the * to their respective links.

Britten-Norman BN-2A Mk.3 Trislander

In conjunction with the Robinson list, I have started compiling info on the BN-2A Trislander.

Robinson R22 Production List Started

I have started the Robinson R22 production list.  Last night I grabbed the registration data for the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.  I'll be editing and filling in the blanks over the next few days.

Bristol 170 Freighter/Wayfarer Production List Completed

The Bristol 170 production list is now complete.  While there may be a few updates needed, I now have entries for all 214 aircraft that were built.  I have removed the * on the Bristol listing to indicate that the list is now completed.

Bristol 170 Freighter/Wayfarer

I have updated the Bristol 170 production list with information from the photos and descriptions at airliners.net.

New Formatting and Content

I have started a new way of compiling data on airframeregistry.com.  Instead of confining myself solely to completing a production list before I post it, I will be working on lists and posting them prior to their completion.  This will allow me to work on different lists at different times, maintain the "fun", and expose myself to more aircraft in a shorter period of time.

Note the addition of the "in process" production lists as well as the completed ones under AR | Status on the right side of the blog.  The "in process" lists will be delineated by an * (asterisk) in front of the list link.  For example, I just uploaded the start of a production list for the Bristol 170 Freighter, Wayfarer.  If you go to the "B" page and look under "Bristol", you will see an * prior to the entry for the 170.  This will be the" in process" indicator I will be utilizing on airframeregistry.com.

Logo Design Work

I have been doing quite a bit of sketching lately, trying to come up with a good logo.  I'm trying to combine all of aviation, plus the research and data side of things into one design.

Logo for airframeregistry.com

Design and development of a logo for airframeregistry.com is currently underway.  I have about a hundred different ideas either sketched on paper or thrown together quickly on the computer.  My desire is to create a logo that is:

Related
The logo must be easily be understood to relate to the content of airframeregistry.com.  Whether artistic in nature or an accurate reproduction, the viewer should be able to easily associate the logo with aircraft, aviation and flight.

Recognizable
Not only does the logo need to be related to aviation, but it must be recognizable as well.  Like Nike's "swoosh" logo, it needs to be easily recognized for what it is.  This will obviously come with time and exposure, but is currently a design criteria I am pondering on.

Reproducible
Thirdly, though not necessarily in this order, the logo must be reproducible.  It should be easily adapted for use on promotional items and publications.

With these three concepts in mind, I will continue to work on the logo design as time allows and perhaps submit two or three for AIRFRAMED reader input.

Welcome to AIRFRAMED

Welcome to AIRFRAMED!  This is "the official blog for airframeregistry.com."  Airframeregistry.com started in 2013 as a website of production lists for civil, heavier-than-air, production aircraft.  This blog is meant as a "community front-end" for airframeregistry.com and will include updates and information relating to that site.  Thanks for stopping by!
